Railings are usually about safety first and appearance second — but there is no reason they cannot do both. Here is how a railing project runs.
1. Where the railing goes
Front steps, a porch, a deck, a balcony or an interior stair each have different requirements. We look at what the railing needs to protect and how people actually use it.
2. Measure and site conditions
We measure the rise and run of the steps and check what we are fixing into — masonry, concrete, wood or composite. Masonry usually means core drilling, which we do ourselves.
3. Choosing a design
We work in three tiers: standard designs individually fabricated from standard profiles; enhanced designs with decorative elements, larger profiles and more prominent posts; and specialised fabrication for one-off, fully bespoke ironwork.
4. Estimate
A written estimate covering fabrication, finish and installation. Free, and with no obligation.
5. Fabrication
Railings are fabricated to your measurements in aluminium or steel and finished before they arrive on site.
6. Installation
We drill, set and secure the posts, fit the railing and check it is solid before we leave. A railing that moves is not doing its job.
